In addition to being an award winning multi-instrumentalist (acoustic/electric guitars, pedal steel, banjo, mandolin and keys) and songwriter, John MacArthur Ellis, is also one of Canada’s top record producers known for capturing the hottest sounds in the Americana, Alt Country, Folk, Singer/Songwriter and Roots Rock genres.

From playing $25 gigs at the age of twelve, to touring auditorium shows and major festivals around the world with artists such as Ferron, Aaron Pritchett, Ridley Bent, Bruce Cockburn, Doc Walker, Chad Brownlee, Barney Bentall, Chris Ronald, Leeroy Stagger and Colin James, John has made a name for himself both on the stage and in the studio as a session player.

While making his mark as a player, John also took to the studio to record all kinds of music for all kinds of artists leading him to becoming a highly sought out world class record producer. Over the past decade, John’s productions have appeared in the top ten on Canadian charts and his playing can be heard on award-winning television and films including the hit series Da Vinci’s Inquest, The Handler, and Intelligence.
